Here are some resources to help families of children with cancer with travel and housing.
The ALSF’s Travel for Care program helps reduce travel expenses for families traveling elsewhere for care. This program includes assistance with gas, lodging, and airfare. Other programs include support for siblings and funding for cancer-related research.
Angel Flight Soars provides air transportation at no cost to those needing transportation for medical treatment.
There are only three children’s cancer treatment cancers in South Carolina. The Children’s Cancer Partners of the Carolinas strives to help families with the cost of travel to treatment centers through assistance with transportation, meals, and lodging.
Children’s Flight of Hope provides flights to specialized medical care for children in need.
This program organizes and funds travel arrangements to hospitals more than sixty miles from the child’s residence.

Joe’s House is a nonprofit organization that locates lodging facilities near hospitals at a discounted rate.

Lachlan’s Hope is dedicated to supporting families throughout their journey with stem cell and bone marrow transplants. They provide information on the life-saving organization, Be the Match, and highlight resources for transplant and blood cancer patients. Travel cards for gas, food, and other necessities during the families’ hospital stay may be available.
The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society provides financial assistance programs to families of children with cancer. Among these, three programs provide travel assistance of up to $500 per grant. An additional $2,500 travel grant is available for CAR T-cell therapy patients.
Miracle Flight’s mission is “to provide free commercial flights to those needing life-changing medical care” across the United States.

The NCCS strives to alleviate the burden of travel costs through its transportation assistance funds, which include expenses such as mileage, airfare, and lodging. Additionally, the NCCS has an Emergency Assistance Fund for families of children who must be inpatient for their treatment.
Patient Airlift Services arranges free flights for medical patients requiring medical diagnosis, treatment, or follow-up who cannot afford or fly commercially.
The Ronald McDonald House Programs offer a comforting home away from home for families who must travel to access the medical resources their child needs. This program provides a place to stay, comforting meals, recreational activities, and family support services.
