Family Retreats

Retreats can help the families of children with cancer relax and take breaks from stressful routines. Here are some retreats that specifically support the families of children with cancer.
A Mother’s Rest offers respite and retreats for caregiving parents in various locations nationwide (including the Carolinas).
Believe in Tomorrow allows families to take a break from their stressful routine of medical treatments and enjoy a stay at a mountain or beach location. Respite properties are located in Maryland, Delaware, and North Carolina.
The Blue Skies Ministry offers family beach camps to uplift children with cancer. These week-long trips are held in Florida, Georgia, and Alabama, and each trip is outfitted with a healthcare professional in the event of medical needs during the trip. After being accepted into this program, there is a $50 application donation, and transportation must be arranged independently.
The Lighthouse Family Retreats are organized by a faith-based, non-profit group to provide restorative retreats for families of children with cancer. This includes Seaside retreats, week-long respites, or local, one-to-three-day community retreats.
Jason’s House is a ministry in Surfside Beach that offers getaways to families of children with cancer. This free, one-week vacation helps families rest and recover in the midst of their treatment journey. A recommendation from a social worker is required.
The Still Place provides families of children with cancer with a respite in the mountains of Hayesville, North Carolina. Families enjoy art, nature, and adventures at no cost to help relieve the daily burdens of cancer treatment.
